Helen Flanagan’s new ‘secret boyfriend’ is being ‘hidden’ while she continues to take part in Celebs Go Dating.
The former Coronation Street and I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here! star, 34, is looking for love on the latest season of the Channel 4 dating series.
After splitting from her long-term partner Scott Sinclair in 2022, she signed up for the show alongside former Gogglebox star Stephen Webb, Married at First Sight’s Ella Morgan, Love Island’s Chris Taylor, Made in Chelsea’s Tristan Phipps and Hollyoaks actress Jamelia.
In recent episodes Helen’s attempts to put herself back out there have hit some roadblocks, however it’s now being reported the actress is already dating someone.
She is said to have been ‘growing close to a new man’, a former footballer called Robbie Talbot.
However, The Sun has reported that Celebs Go Dating bosses have ‘have helped cover up her secret relationship’ with the ex-Morecambe and Burton Albion striker, 44.
After Helen shared the update of her dating life with executives, they were ‘desperate’ to keep her, she continued filming for the series, even kissing a date called Luke.
Sources on the show have also said Robbie has been seen on set filming alongside Helen, with the pair also following each other on social media.
‘Helen tried to keep the relationship under wraps because of Celebs Go Dating,’ a source told the publication.
‘But that’s become difficult as their feelings have grown for each other. It came to a head when she was quizzed by the dating agents about why she was failing to pursue connections on the show.
‘The one rule of CGD is stars must be single. But E4 bosses were desperate to keep her, so found a way to write Robbie into the show.’
They added: ‘Sources on set have seen him filming alongside Helen. While it’s not known how E4 will justify the fakery, viewers will feel they’re trying to pull the wool over their eyes.’
It comes after Helen ‘went public’ with Robbie at her birthday party on August 10, with friends saying she was ‘smitten’.
Helen, who shares three children with her ex, recently said she was looking to date an ‘older man’ because they were more ‘emotionally mature’.
Speaking to The Mirror about what she was looking for while dating, she explained: ‘I like an older man because I feel like they are more emotionally mature, a bit more sensitive.’
‘When I go on a date, I like it to be with someone who’s maybe been through divorce and who has kids because I feel like they understand me a bit better,’ she said.
She went on to joke she was chasing a ‘dilf’.
