Wallace and Gromit are finally back on the BBC with a brand new Christmas Special – and now we have a first look.

The BBC has pulled out all the stops for this year’s Christmas schedule, with the last ever episode of Gavin and Stacey and now the new adventure for Wallace and Gromit in Vengeance Most Fowl.

The 70-minute film will feature the return of the duo’s greatest nemesis, Feather McGraw, last seen in the 1993 Bafta-winning The Wrong Trousers when the dastardly penguin became Wallace’s tenant, manipulating the Wensleydale obsessive’s mechanical trousers to steal a blue diamond.

The bird was caught and has been behind bars ever since – until now.

This Christmas, Feather will be back to get his revenge.

The BBC has unveiled a first look at Wallace’s new invention which takes centre stage, a robotic smart gnome named Norbot.

A new clip shows an alarmed Gromit narrowing missing being crushed by the opening of a box that contains Wallace’s latest invention, Norbot, with menacing eyes and a smirk that looks like trouble.

Directors of Wallace & Gromit: Vengeance Most Fowl Nick Park and Merlin Crossingham, said: ‘We are delighted to introduce Norbot, a “Nifty Odd-jobbing Robot” gnome, designed to help Gromit with his gardening chores.

‘Norbot is Wallace’s most proud achievement to date and, according to Wallace, his “best invention ever!” Garden gnomes have long been a part of Wallace and Gromit’s world, but this is no cute patio ornament. Norbot is the ultimate gnome – a “smart-gnome”.

‘We’re so excited to see Wallace unleashing his latest invention Norbot into the world. However, his long-suffering pooch Gromit, may be a little less sure…’

Inside No. 9 genius Reece Sheersmith lends his voice to Norbot in a huge blockbuster cast which also includes Peter Kay, Diane Morgana and Sir Lenny Henry while Ben Whitehead returns as Wallace.

‘As a huge fan of Wallace & Gromit, it’s been such a joy to work alongside Nick and Merlin and the team at Aardman to bring Norbot to life in such an exciting story,’ said Sheersmith.

‘I think fans of all ages are in for a treat, and I can’t wait for everyone to see it!’

Wallace and Gromit: Vengeance Most Fowl airs this Christmas on BBC One.
