The mother-of-one said her music producer bosses suggested she cut down her new song to just two minute to be able to appeal to users on social media.

Speaking about TikTok, Perrie told Euphoria magazine: 'I think it's absolutely effing up everyone's attention spans. People don't wanna hold a conversation for longer than five seconds because they'd rather swipe to the next thing.

'It's kind of killing the music industry I'm gonna be honest.'

The Forget About Us songstress added the way she promotes her music now is incredibly different to when she won the X Factor in 2011.

She continued: 'It's a different time. When we first came out we were in HMV every other week doing signings. People were buying our albums, buying our songs. Streaming wasn't even a thing. When we release a song now, we sit there for a week twiddling our thumbs making TikToks.

'Someone asked me whether we should crunch, You Go Your Way Down and make it shorter and I was like, "No It's long because there's so much going on". Music is an art, why are we trying to do it quickly?'

During her appearance on the Graham Norton Show, Perrie slipped into a black leather bralette which featured a long mesh detailing as she took to the stage.

She teamed the number with lace up leather trousers and accessorsied with a chain necklace as she performed her new track with her band.

The Tears singer was joined on the famous BBC One red sofa by Hugh Grant, Neneh Cherry, Sebastian Stan and Greg Davies.

Her stunning appearance comes after Perrie told how her latest solo single You Go Your Way was inspired by the early days of her relationship with her fiancé Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, who she tried to split with.

The pair, who now share three-year-old son Axel, matched on celebrity dating app Raya in November 2014 but went on only a couple of dates before Perrie had to embark on a three-month US tour with Little Mix and Ariana Grande.

She recalled: 'We went on a few dates, and I could feel myself really falling for him.

'I told him, 'I completely understand if you don't wanna wait for me, I'll never hold it against you. I won't judge you, and I get that because it's gonna be hard. So I'll go my way, you go yours, and then if we're meant to be together, maybe we'll meet again.'

Perrie added: 'He just looked at me and went, 'Go do your own thing?! You're my girlfriend!' And I was like, 'Wait, so is that you asking me to be your girlfriend?''

The couple welcomed son Axel in August 2021 before Alex popped the question almost a year later.

In a recent podcast Perrie revealed the 'horrendous' regret Little Mix had that almost caused them to get back together prematurely following their split in 2022.

She admitted her and her fellow bandmates Leigh-Anne Pinnock and Jade Thirlwall initially panicked after they 'put their foot down' to go solo.

The band formed alongside Jesy Nelson on The X Factor in 2011, going on to win the show and achieve worldwide success.

However, after over a decade of working hard, Perrie admitted the girls were left 'bored out of our minds' after their split with all the free time they suddenly had.

The mother-of-one said that her, Leigh-Anne, 32, and Jade, 31, were texting each other saying they were 'sick' of sitting around.

She recalled: 'I remember we sat at home and we were in a WhatsApp group and we were like, I'm bored. What are you up to today?

'And Leigh-Anne would be like, "I'm actually sick of this." And Jade's like, "Yeah, why did we push for this again?"

'And I'm like, "We've done it now, we have to see it through." Cause we were like, should we go back? Like, should we just, it was so weird. It was like, that was abnormal to us.

'We were bored out of our minds, it was horrendous and now I love doing nothing. Like I'm really good at it.

'So I don't think I'd like struggle that much. I love working and I love also not working. So I think it's a good balance.'
