Looking for a quirky property investment opportunity? A house with a rather bizarre trait in one of its bedrooms has gone on the market for just shy of £360,000.

At first glance, it looks like your typical four-bedroom abode – complete with an open-plan kitchen-come-dining room, lounge and neatly pruned back garden.

But inside, there’s a pink-themed bedroom housing a toilet mere inches from the bed, alongside a freestanding bathtub and sink.

It might all sound rather intimate (and potentially somewhat unhygienic), but look at it this way: it would considerably shorten the morning commute from bed to shower.

There’s also the added relief that, should you wake up at night needing the loo, it’s right there next to you. Not everyone can say that about their property situation, hey?

Sadly, not all the bedrooms are equipped with the same facilities – as there’s not a bath (or toilet, for that matter) in sight in the remaining three.

Elsewhere, the price tag for the detached bungalow isn’t insignificant, but it’s not the worst for the amount of space it entails. Found in Morley, Leeds, it’s currently on the market with William H. Brown for £359,995.

For context, in June 2024, figures from Zoopla placed the average UK house price at £265,600. However, detached properties (like this one) even out at £449,000 – which is considerably more than this little West Yorkshire bungalow.

There’s also plenty to do in the area, as Morley is just an 18-minute drive (or 8 minutes by train) from Leeds city centre.

This northern gem is inundated with independent shops, bars, and brunch places. The picturesque Leeds-Liverpool canal runs through it, and the Leeds Art Gallery and Leeds City Museum are also nearby for an added spot of culture.

And, alongside the hustle and bustle, it’s been hailed as the ideal family area, from its proximity to the wider West Yorkshire countryside to its educational offerings.

‘Fabulous, extended four-bedroom detached dormer bungalow, situated in the sought after location of Gildersome Village and having good access to motorway links, local amenities and good schools,’ the listing reads.

‘The accommodation has been extended giving the property a further bedroom and an open plan kitchen/diner and family room, making this a perfect property for the growing family.

‘The accommodation comprises of: entrance hall, living room, bedrooms one and four, open plan kitchen/diner, family room and shower room and two first floor bedrooms, one with a fitted bathroom and a spacious landing.

‘Externally the property benefits from parking to the front for multiple cars and an enclosed well maintained lawned rear garden.’
